The current Piirpauke line-up was founded on New Year's Eve 2004-2005 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, following the tsunami that afflicted widely the whole region in South-East Asia. Luckily we did not lose any lives but we had to rebuild our band. We had unbelievably good karma as fellow musicians Lauri Salokonski and Ilari Kaila happened to be around. The ensemple has continued to grow with a.o. long-time members Cinta, Ismaila and Badu as well as guitar hero Juha Björninen from the band's early day. Ilari Kaila's teacher Samuli Mikkonen has since replaced Ilari. Yona and Kalevi Louhivuori as well as Sharon joined us later but the rest (Olavi, Roi, Sakari and Seva) are the original members of "Tsunami-Piirpauke".
This is so far the biggest Piirpauke line-up, and it is great to have followers of many different religions working together in perfect harmony.
